J.B. Wolfe is a nom de plume chosen for a specific reason: to honor the name she has gone by for almost two decades now in her online world where she has met and made many friends, including her husband of almost nine years. She and her husband live in small-town Pennsylvania with their slightly odd cat, Isis (there is a suspicion that she may somehow be part dog) where J.B. works most of the week at a local independent bookstore. It’s a dangerous job, but someone has to do it! (That’s her story and she’s sticking to it).
Aside from the bookstore, J.B. has worked as a security guard, a contractor at a factory, as well as several different retail and convenience stores. There’s been a lot of customer service jobs in there. But her favorite has to be getting to talk about–and work with– books all day.
J.B. has been writing since she was young when her kindergarten teacher first helped her illustrate and write a book about dinosaurs. Ever since, the written word has been balm, solace, frustration, and ultimately salvation. She prefers to write fantasy for a number of reasons, but the main one is that while getting to explore her vast imagination, she can tackle inner demons and outer influences, all in a world of her own making. Writing fantasy is as heady as reading it, to her way of thinking.
